ENGIE North America teams H.T Lyons and Systecon contributed their modular design-build expertise to the construction of The Chemours Company’s new Discovery Hub building, in partnership with the University of Delaware. The state of the art, $150 million-dollar research hub utilizes H.T Lyons’ modular MEP racks and Systecon’s modular Central Utility Plant to deliver the quickest production and installation timeline in line with the specifications of this project. The building is set to open in December of 2019.
As a part of their continued efforts to provide cleaner energy at their hospitals and medical buildings, Sutter Health, working with ENGIE Services U.S. (“ENGIE”), “flipped the switch” on a new solar energy program at Sutter’s Yuba City campus. The solar power installations will provide 56 percent of the campus’ electrical power and a PPA agreement with ENGIE locks Sutter in with a favorable energy rate for 20 years, assisting in Sutter’s mission to provide quality healthcare at consistently affordable prices, all while helping the environment.
ENGIE Services U.S. is pleased to announce that the sale of Conti Corporation to ENGIE North America Inc. (“ENGIE”) has closed. ENGIE’s acquisition of Conti, and its affiliate companies Indicon, Ion Electric, and McGilvray Mechanical, will integrate Conti into the Services line of businesses that includes ENGIE Services U.S., enabling the team across North America to deliver comprehensive energy and building system services to thousands of customers in the U.S. and Canada.
On July 1st, ENGIE announced that Conti Corporation has agreed to sign a purchase agreement initiating the process to transition Conti and its companies to a member of the ENGIE family of companies across North America. Conti Corporation including affiliates Indicon, Ion Electric, and McGilvray Mechanical, is a multi-national construction and energy services company operating in the United States and Canada. Conti provides comprehensive building lifecycle services across various sectors, including renewable energy, technology, fire suppression, HVAC+R, and transportation, increasing ENGIE’s range of services and strengthening our ability to provide seamless and comprehensive zero-carbon energy solutions for customers in all fields.
With a flip of a switch, Tulare County is one step closer to using solar energy at several facilities. The project has been several years in the making with ENGIE Services U.S. Tulare County signed a 25-year contract with ENGIE that’s expected to save the county $40 million in electricity during that time.
Suisun City leaders kicked off a renewable energy program with ENGIE Services U.S. that will help the city meet its climate action goals and reduce energy costs. The program will use solar energy, energy efficiency, and LED lighting upgrades to reduce the city’s energy use and generate clean energy. Over the life of the project, this program is expected to save $12MM — funds that can be redirected into other city and neighborhood services.
In a solar implementation strategy being adopted by schools and facilities across North America, Gonzales USD in the Salinas Valley announced the activation of their new solar Power Purchase Agreement, or PPA, project at the start of 2019. By choosing a PPA framework to implement their solar initiative, aligned with ongoing sustainable campus improvements and student-led “green” initiatives across all district sites, Gonzales USD will capture over $5 million in electricity savings over the term of the 25-year PPA.
On Friday April 26th, Sutter Amador Hospital “flipped the switch” on an on-site solar generating system that will provide more than half of the electrical power needs for the medical campus. The solar power purchase agreement project, otherwise known as a PPA, is part of Sutter Health‘s ongoing efforts to provide a cleaner energy source at its hospitals and medical office buildings, demonstrating the Northern California healthcare network’s commitment to environmental stewardship.

ENGIE has polished off its energy transition credentials in recent weeks with a coal plant disposal and a bid for offshore wind. ENGIE has completed the sale of Thai coal generation firm Glow Energy to Thailand’s Global Power Synergy Company, the power generating unit of state-owned PTT. In contrast to coal, ENGIE is planning to add 9 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity between 2019 and 2021. Onshore wind and solar PV will account for 6 gigawatts and 2 gigawatts of the total, respectively.

West Chester Township-based Systecon, a maker of modular heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, was acquired Jan. 31 by ENGIE NA, whose parent company is based in Paris, France.
