ENGIE Services U.S. is pleased to announce that the sale of Conti Corporation to ENGIE North America Inc. (“ENGIE”) has closed. ENGIE’s acquisition of Conti, and its affiliate companies Indicon, Ion Electric, and McGilvray Mechanical, will integrate Conti into the Services line of businesses that includes ENGIE Services U.S., enabling the team across North America to deliver comprehensive energy and building system services to thousands of customers in the U.S. and Canada.
On July 1st, ENGIE announced that Conti Corporation has agreed to sign a purchase agreement initiating the process to transition Conti and its companies to a member of the ENGIE family of companies across North America. Conti Corporation including affiliates Indicon, Ion Electric, and McGilvray Mechanical, is a multi-national construction and energy services company operating in the United States and Canada. Conti provides comprehensive building lifecycle services across various sectors, including renewable energy, technology, fire suppression, HVAC+R, and transportation, increasing ENGIE’s range of services and strengthening our ability to provide seamless and comprehensive zero-carbon energy solutions for customers in all fields.
ENGIE has polished off its energy transition credentials in recent weeks with a coal plant disposal and a bid for offshore wind. ENGIE has completed the sale of Thai coal generation firm Glow Energy to Thailand’s Global Power Synergy Company, the power generating unit of state-owned PTT. In contrast to coal, ENGIE is planning to add 9 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity between 2019 and 2021. Onshore wind and solar PV will account for 6 gigawatts and 2 gigawatts of the total, respectively.
In collaboration with ENGIE Services U.S., the El Dorado Union High School District (EDUHSD) has implemented a solar photovoltaic (PV) energy program that includes five solar PV parking shade structures on parking lots in addition to a solar educational program linking the solar installations in with existing science curriculum.
ENGIE North America has acquired Systecon LLC, an Ohio-based company specializing in cooling and water delivery equipment. The company specializes in equipment built in the factory and shipped on skids, rather than assembled out in the field.
“By leveraging the interconnected network of other successful ENGIE teams, we can expand on our unique approach to delivering modular HVAC and mechanical contracting solutions – creating a seamless, sustainable energy services model for our valued customers,” said Marty Tierney, President and CEO of Systecon.
